Busani Bafana
Busani has worked for some of Zimbabwe's leading independent newspapers such as the Financial Gazette and the Zimbabwe Independent. He also worked for five years as Information and Public Relations Officer for the National University of Science and Technology in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Busani currently contributes to the Inter Press Service (IPS) on agriculture and sustainable development issues in addition to being a stringer for New Agriculturist and Agfax. He is a founder member and coordinator of the Network on Environment and Agriculture Reporting, a media network in Zimbabwe that seeks to promote coverage of agriculture and science issues by journalists.

Career highlights:
- In 1998 he was joint winner of the inaugural IUCN/Reuters Environmental Reporting Award
- 2010 winner of the CGIAR Award for Excellence in Agricultural Science Journalism, for a story entitled A Better Banana for Africa
- 2010, joint winner of the inaugural UNEP Ozone Africa Media Award, for a story entitled Come 2010, time for Ozone Depleting Substances to go about the phase out of Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) in Africa
